Chronicle Going Digital

Monday, April 20th, 2009

I got an email today from the San Francisco Chronicle with an offer to subscribe to their new online edition of the daily newspaper. It’s a fair charge for a good major market newspaper, so I’m considering being a subscriber.

The Chronicle is one of the sites that I visit daily and I enjoy reading their perspective on major news events. Even more, I enjoy reading the comments left by readers at the end of each article. It is very enlightening to consider other people’s point of view on a topic, whether it is a local, national or world wide story. Sometimes I’m driven to comment, as well, and it is interesting to read the flames that my comments start fanning when I feel a little confrontational.

For the next month or so all of my blogs will be coming to you live from my laptop in a North Carolina hotel room.

With  Marvel taking more control of their properties, things are looking good as Iron Man was awesome. I guess I’ll just have to wait until friday to find out. What I am certainly looking forward to is the recently announced Avengers move slated for a 2010 release….

Kotaku.com has a great article up about Jeanne Stevens. A politician who is also a gamer. As the first generation of gamers are getting older, this trend is inevitable. In spite of the stereotype, gamers are not all antisocial hermits living in their parents basement their whole lives.

I have recently re-connected with old friends that I haven’t seen in about 10 years. It’s really amazing to see how people have changed for the better. Makes me feel good.
