The Steinway

Everyone in my family, from my grandfather down to my son, has a piano in their home. All of us have taken piano lessons and can play a variety of tunes, from some classical pieces to modern rock and roll. Music has been the cornerstone of this family for four generations and I expect it will continue.

My grandfather’s Steinway upright piano was the focal point of their living room and his most prized possession. He bought a piano in 1920′s and played music all over the Washington DC area his whole life. He used to tell us stories of playing for the local burlesque shows, he played for audiences that went to the theaters to see the silent movies, and he played in bands and orchestras for over 50 years.

My aunt has my grandfather’s piano in her home now that he has passed away. I asked her recently if it is still in tune and in good shape, or would she need to seek out a craftsman who does Piano repair. If it needs repair, I would be willing to help her arrange for the shipping  and pay for any repairs if she used the Lindeblad Piano Restoration company in New Jersey.

The men at Lindeblad are the only ones I would trust with Steinway Piano Restoration. Like us, they are in their fourth generation of craftsmen who repair pianos.

They repair and restore all kinds of pianos and also have Steinway Grands for Sale. To me, buying a well made and lovingly restored piano makes a lot more sense than buying something new. The new pianos do not have the same quality of woods and materials as the newer ones. I don’t know about you, but I want the rich tones and clear notes of a vintage Steinway.
