Planning for Holiday Shopping
By Ed. Filed in Computers & Internet, Holidays, Life |Everyone knows that you can save money on Christmas shopping by buying the gifts on the day after Thanksgiving, which is called “Black Friday.” The secret to the day’s shopping success is good planning and knowing where to find the best sales. The hard part is finding out early enough where to find the best deals so you can plan your day. Many of the Black Friday ads don’t come out until the Thanksgiving Day newspaper – and who has time to read the newspaper on Thanksgiving with a house full of relatives?
What I’ve discovered is that you can purchase Black Friday items online without having to stand in line at the stores. There is a web site called black-friday.net that will list the Black Friday deals and has a feature that lets you sign up for email alerts with special prices and sales. Somebody has to know what is going on sale in advance. So this site has the advance information you need because the ads have already been printed for a lot of the stores and the ads are right there on this site to read.
My favorite bargain store has always been Best Buy. You can count on Best Buy to have some great bargains. But to buy really quality stuff at a deep discount, I’m looking for sale information on the high end stores like Tommy Hilfiger. Rumor has it that everything in the Tommy stores will be 40% off plus if you spend $200 or more you get an extra 20% off. Now that’s worth going to the mall!

I have always hated Black Friday because I worked in retail for years. It was the worst day of the year for anyone who has to work that day, and it was all hands on deck – no vacation days or sick days allowed.
Now I have learned to plan the day and get the best bargains early before they run out of stock. Its all part of the holidays now.
