Would it have mattered?

In a moment of total silliness, several of the guys at work were wondering if the outcome of the Presidential election would be different if Obama was white and McCain was black?
I think a lot of racist people voted either for or against Obama strictly because he is black. I wonder if McCain was black instead of Obama, if those same people would have voted the same way? It makes you think. It also makes me sad that we are still dealing with so much racsim in this country. But I think that racism is world wide and probably part of the human condition. I would still like to still that change.
