Working from Home
By Ed. Filed in Business, Computers & Internet |My brother called to touch base this morning. We haven’t talked for a few weeks, but both of us have been pretty busy with work and family duties. He has been busy setting up the second office for his brokerage firm and trying to hire new agents, support staff, etc. Plus he has had to order all the equipment, furniture, and supplies for the new office.
They are hoping that this satellite office will let them hire more people but keep down their expenses for overhead. One idea that they want to try is buying the right computers and software to work the most efficiently. Some of their agents live so far from the office that they want to work from home most days and only come into the office for required sales meetings, training and client appointments that require face to face meetings rather than phone calls and emails.
I suggested that they consider using remote access for those agents. Each agent has a laptop computer that they keep with them and they have a desktop PC in the office. The remote access software allows them to access the information on those office computers from anywhere they have an internet connection.
