New Bed and Fresh Coat of Paint
By Ed. Filed in Home and Garden, Life |The economy hasn’t improved enough for us to reconsider taking our summer vacation. So we have been finding things to do around town and fixing up the house, a little bit here and a little bit there. We even put in a small vegetable garden, which is turning out to be an enjoyable yet challenging hobby.
The biggest accomplishment this summer has been moving around the bedrooms and changing up the sleeping areas of the house. We have taken everything out of the third bedroom that was basically a “junk room” and hauled most of its contents to the basement. We are in the process of painting the room this next week, and then we’ll be setting it up as an actual spare bedroom or guest room.
The room is going to be gender neutral, with the colors being a soft green and white, for a restful spa-like feel. We need to get new furniture, so we are trying to decide if we want to get new furniture for the master bedroom. If we do that we can move that old furniture from the master bedroom into the guest room. Or, we can just buy a couple of nice, new pieces specifically for the guest room, which would be less expensive.
Of course, we need a new bed for the guest room. I was looking at beds on the internet and found a very practical but elegant platform bed called, Lavina. I like the padded headboard and the light colored wood frame. That adds to the spa-like feel that I envision for our new guest room.
